The Judiciary Act of 2021 increases the size of the court from 9 to 13 justices to match the number of circuit courts. Each justice is assigned to a circuit and increasing the number of justices would match the balance of circuit courts. It is extremely important to restore the balance of the Supreme Court at times like these. This also counters Republican efforts to pack the court. After the overruling of Roe v. Wade, depriving women of a fundamental right, the right to abortion, we need to do everything in our power to prevent future decisions such as this one.
