Implement Water, Drinking Fountains and Lights in Hemet Skate Park

The Issue

Dear concerned citizens of Hemet, CA, my daughter, like many local kids, avoids our skate park due to the unbearable heat. They're robbed of a place to practice their hobby, bond with their friends and enjoy the great outdoor experience skate parks typically provide. This is a common problem faced by countless families in Hemet, making the installation of water and lights crucial.

Our city's climate in summer averages around 98.8F, occasionally reaching highs of over 104°F (Source: US Climate Data). Given these conditions, a dehydration-free environment is essential for safety and comfort, hence the need for drinking water facilities.

In addition to this, the lack of proper lighting post-sunset limits the park's usability and poses safety concerns for late evening users. This is where proper lighting becomes indispensable.

By equipping the local skate park with proper water facilities and lights, we can not only enhance safety but also foster a more inclusive environment for all our kids. We urge the city to invest in these seemingly small but significantly impactful necessities.

Let's open the door to night-time skating, and provide the children an opportunity to cool down and hydrate. Sign this petition spread the word, and help bring about this much needed change.
