Members of Porto Cima, we are calling for the implementation of safety buoys near the golf course and no wake buoys 100 feet from the last dock across the cove. These measures are crucial to ensure safety and prevent accidents that can occur due to high-speed boating activities. According to U.S Coast Guard statistics, 79% of all recreational boating injuries in 2019 occurred on boats where operators did not receive boating safety instruction (U.S Coast Guard Recreational Boating Statistics 2019). By placing no wake buoys off the last dock about 100 feet out, we can significantly reduce this risk.
