Bitterne Road West was undoubtedly safer when it had a designated lane for buses. The removal of this lane has given drivers license to speed, making the road hazardous for pedestrians and other road users. Installing a pedestrian crossing close to chessil crescent and reinstating the bus lane would not only slow down traffic but would also provide a safe crossing point for pedestrians, reducing the risk of accidents.
