With increasing cases of child homicides in our country, it becomes even more unbearable to learn about convicts confessing to their heinous crimes, void of remorse, yet allowed to live off the American tax dollar. There have been no executions in California for 17 years, leaving the grieving families in a continuous cycle of emotional torture. It's salt on their wounds, watching murderers delaying their judgment day, dying of natural causes before their court-awarded punishments. This is not only a disgrace to humanity but also a financial burden to our country. The magnitude of this problem is alarming, especially considering the fact that there are currently 700+ inmates on California's death row (source: California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation). It's an inconvenient truth, yet crucial for swift justice, that these criminals go through a speedier appeal process, and upon confirmation of their guilt, their sentencing should be carried out without delay. There is an urgent need for California to reassess and expedite its execution process. This is not an appeal out of vengeance but a plea for justice.
