Implement Stringent Traffic Calming Measures on the A528 Blackspot

The Issue

For just over a decade, we have lived on the A528 in Wrexham, a road marked by serious danger.  We have stood powerless and horrified as 41 vehicles have been out of control. We've seen them cross a frequently-used public footpath hitting the wall right outside our home or stop only when they crash into the hedgerow opposite, causing multiple disruptions requiring the attention of fire, ambulance, police services and even the Air ambulance. The most severe of these incidents have resulted in 12 hours-long road closures.

But, these are not just numbers - each one is a terrifying real-life incident echoing in the minds of drivers, passengers, and pedestrians alike. A stark reminder of the imminent danger that the A528 poses to this community.

Thus, we believe it's high time we guard our community and request the relevant authorities to introduce comprehensive and stringent traffic calming measures on the A528 to safeguard the lives of the residents and the countless road users that travel through this treacherous stretch every day. Let our homes be places of peace, not potential disaster zones awaiting the screech of tires and the beckoning of emergency services.

The time to act is now. Please sign this petition to make A528 safe!
