Implement Stricter Rules for International License Holders Failing UK Driving Test

The Issue

As someone who has personally witnessed the potential dangers of unqualified drivers on the road, I am deeply concerned about the current regulations for international license holders in the UK. At present, individuals with an international driving license who fail their UK driving test are still allowed to drive away unaided from the test centre. This can lead to serious or even fatal accidents due to their lack of proficiency demonstrated during their failed test.

According to a report by Road Safety Observatory (2018), foreign drivers are more likely to be involved in collisions compared to local drivers. The same report also highlights that these accidents could be reduced by up to 30% if stricter rules were implemented for international license holders.

Therefore, I propose that all international license holders who fail their UK driving tests should have their licenses revoked immediately and should only be allowed to operate a vehicle under learner driver rules until they successfully pass their tests.

This is not just about improving road safety but also about ensuring fairness and equality among all drivers on our roads. Please sign this petition if you believe in safer roads and equal standards for all motorists.
