As a resident of the Isle of Man, I am deeply distressed by the increasing instances of inhumane puppy farming & inbreeding. More and more animals are being inbred and kept in disgusting conditions. Our island's animal rescue centres are bursting at full capacity, struggling to cope with the number of abandoned animals requiring rehoming. 

Puppy farming is the breeding of dogs/cats in poor, inadequate conditions which often results in animals suffering from long-term health and behavioural issues. This unethical practice is not only cruel but also contributes to an overpopulation problem that our local shelters cannot handle.

Shockingly, there are currently no laws on our island preventing these unscrupulous individuals from exploiting innocent creatures for profit. This lack of legislation allows them to continue their operations unchecked, causing untold suffering for countless animals.

We must act now! We urge MHK's to create new laws and legislation on the Isle of Man that will ensure ethical standards for the breeding and sale of dogs/cats. By doing so we can prevent neglect, reduce overpopulation issues and ultimately decrease the number of animals requiring rehoming.
