Petition: Make Wairoa Avenue Safe for Everyone

We urge local authorities to act now and implement speed dampening measures on Wairoa Avenue, from Blair Street to Murriverie Road, North Bondi. (Waverley Council)

The Issue:
Wairoa Avenue has turned into a hazardous drag strip for speeding vehicles, motorbikes, and buses at all hours. This reckless behaviour puts our children, pets, and neighbours at constant risk. Electric vehicles, nearly silent, only add to the danger. Recently, speeding drivers have already harmed pets, and it’s only a matter of time before a child or pedestrian is hurt—or worse.

The Solution:
We need proven speed control measures like speed humps, chicanes, or raised pedestrian crossings to slow traffic and protect our community.

Why This Matters:
As a Wairoa Avenue resident, I see this danger every day. Our kids deserve to play safely, and no one should fear for their loved ones’ safety because of speeding vehicles.
