My beloved cat was tragically run over by a speeding car on Hyde Drive in Ifield, Crawley. This incident is not an isolated one. Many residents have reported similar incidents and near misses due to the excessive speed of vehicles along this road. It's clear that our community's safety is at risk.

Hyde Drive has become a hotspot for speeding vehicles, endangering not only pets but also pedestrians and other motorists. The lack of traffic calming measures such as speed bumps encourages reckless driving behaviour.

According to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), speed humps can reduce accidents by around 40%. They are particularly effective in residential areas where there are many vulnerable road users such as children and pets.

We urge our local council to take immediate action by implementing speed bumps on Hyde Drive. By doing so, we can significantly reduce the risk of accidents and make our streets safer for everyone.
