This petition is born out of a tragic incident. A young child was hit by a speeding car on Hazlewood Avenue, Hampden Park.  It's an event that has shaken our community and highlighted the urgent need for traffic calming measures in our area.

Hazlewood Avenue has become notorious for drivers who disregard speed limits. The lack of speed bumps or any other form of traffic calming measures has made this road a hotspot for such dangerous behavior. According to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), speed bumps can reduce accidents by up to 60%.

The safety of our children and all residents should be paramount. We cannot wait until another tragedy strikes before action is taken. We urge the local council to implement speed bumps on Hazlewood Avenue immediately.
