Good evening everyone.

I'm so sorry for being quiet recently. I've been a bit preoccupied with my daughter Evie Rae, who was born on 20th August (a lockdown baby).

In October my husband and I received the heartbreaking news that Evie has hip dysplasia, the same condition I was diagnosed with in my teens. Thankfully it was picked up by ultrasound scan due to my history at 6 weeks. This means we have the opportunity to help her early on, and something we do not take for granted.

Undetected hip dysplasia or delayed treatment can result in the need for complex surgery and long-term disability and pain, hence the reason I've had to have 13 major hip operations to try and fix my issues. Most babies who receive an early diagnosis and treatment develop normally, which is why screening is so important and why I am so passionate about spreading awareness.

I'm devastated but so thankful Evie was scanned. Now to start the hip dysplasia journey again but this time with our daughter.

Stay safe everyone in these strange times.
