Update on implementing safer speed limits entering Oakura

Hi Team, it has been a few months since I have updated you and wanted to keep you posted. I have had several meetings with David MacLeod and he is still pushing our agenda with the powers that be. He has informed me that NZTA has agreed to do a traffic study at some point. I have also been in contact with NZTA and they have confirmed that we are in the cue for a review. Unfortunately, they have not committed to a date for that study and all they can tell me is that we are now in their 10 year plan.
I am not happy with that plan so I feel like we need to make our voices heard louder. I am asking that you contact NZTA directly at speedmanagement@nzta.govt.nz and let them know that we are not happy with the current speed limit situation as we enter Oakura Village from either direction. That we are not happy to wait, while our children and residents are in danger due to seriously outdated road regulations. This is our community and we need to let NZTA know that we will no longer accept inactivity when the solution is so simple. We must act now! It is not whether we will have another fatality or life altering accident, it is when. If we can make our voices heard collectively maybe we can save some lives and a lot of heartache. Please send a message to NZTA and also copy our MP David MacLeod at: David.MacLeodMP@parliament.govt.nz.
Thank you for your help in this very important issue.

Warmest Regards,
Eddie Sera
