As a passionate observer and participant in the world of Chess, it concerns me deeply that a game of such skill and strategy is threatened by dishonest practices. Notably, the upcoming World Chess Championship in 2024 is at risk of being marred by advanced methods of cheating. I am personally aware of instances where players have prepared to use advanced cheating methods, including telepathic prompting at crucial moments, in order to avoid detection. This demeans the spirit of the game and deceives the audience who invest their time, admiration, and respect for these championships.

I demand that the International Chess Federation (FIDE) and World Chess Federation introduce and use strict advanced anti-cheating measures at the upcoming event. One of the key measures suggested is the introduction of a 1-hour delay in the broadcasting of moves. This will significantly limit the opportunity for cheats to utilise real-time information to manipulate outcomes.

Additionally, I urge these entities to develop and implement comprehensive prevention measures against the use of gadgets and telepathic-based cheating, which stand as silent yet potent threats to the fairness of the competition.

Although there may not be publicly available statistics on the occurrence of such cheating, the deep-seated integrity and traditional respect tied to Chess demand that we act at once against any possible method of deception. The onus is on the key stakeholders to protect an esteemed game from illegitimate practices that dampen its spirit and diminish its value.
