As a concerned resident of Hobbs, NM, I believe that our schools should be sanctuaries for learning and growth. Our children should feel safe and secure within their educational environments. However, the increasing number of school shootings/ stabbings across the country has cast a shadow over these once safe spaces. This is why I am urging our local government to implement metal detectors in all of our schools.

Our community needs to take proactive steps towards ensuring the safety of its youngest members. Installing metal detectors in every school within Hobbs would demonstrate a commitment to this cause. It's time we prioritize the safety and well-being of our children over everything else.
