My niece, a beautiful young girl with a disability, rides the school bus every day. She has a weak immune system and is susceptible to illnesses, especially during harsh weather conditions. On numerous occasions, she's been left waiting in the rain or cold because of delays with her bus. Similarly, my co-worker's daughter frequently faces the same issue - her mother often receives distressed calls from her about the late arrival of her school bus.

This isn't just our story; it's an issue that affects countless families across Texas who rely on school buses for their children’s transportation needs. The unpredictability of these buses' schedules can lead to unnecessary stress and potential health risks for our children.

We propose that all school buses in Texas be equipped with GPS tracking devices that can be monitored through an app by parents and students alike. This will not only ensure transparency but also help families better plan their schedules around the actual arrival time of these buses.

In Texas alone, this number reaches into hundreds of thousands if not millions – all potentially facing similar issues due to lack of real-time tracking information.
