The Issue

Recently, an alarming number of students at MIT Manipal fell ill due to suspected food poisoning caused by water contamination and poor food quality in several hostel messes. This situation is not just concerning for the affected individuals but is a wake-up call for the administration to take immediate action to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.

We are deeply concerned about the health risks posed by these recent incidents. Our students deserve a safe living environment where the quality of food and water meets high safety standards. According to reports, multiple cases of food poisoning have been reported across different hostel messes, highlighting a systemic issue that requires urgent attention and resolution.

To address this critical problem, we call for the implementation of regular quality control (QC) checks on both food and water in all hostels of MIT Manipal. These QC checks should include regular testing for contaminants and adherence to hygiene standards, with transparent reporting of the results to students and guardians. Additionally, a system of accountability must be established to ensure corrective actions are taken promptly when standards are not met.

Ensuring the safety of our children's living conditions must not be an option; it should be a top priority. This petition demands immediate actions to establish and enforce strict safety protocols to protect our wards' health.

Let's unite our voices to urge the administration of MIT Manipal to prioritize the health and safety of its students by implementing the proposed quality control measures. Please sign this petition if you believe that every student deserves a safe and healthy living environment.
