Implement European-Style Insurance to Combat UK Insurance Exploitation

Implement European-Style Insurance to Combat UK Insurance Exploitation
The Issue
My personal journey with the UK insurance industry has been a disheartening one, filled with frustration and a sense of being taken advantage of. Like many others, I feel as though we are being robbed by these companies who seem more interested in their bottom line than in providing fair and affordable coverage.
The issue is not isolated to my experience alone. Many people across the UK share similar stories of feeling exploited by high premiums and inadequate coverage. This is not just an anecdotal observation - studies have shown that UK citizens pay some of the highest insurance premiums in Europe (source: Association of British Insurers).
In contrast, our European neighbours enjoy more reasonable rates due to different models for insurance provision. For example, countries like Germany and France operate on a system where insurers are non-profit entities or mutual associations (source: European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority). This model prioritises policyholders over profits.
We need government to take action towards implementing a European-style insurance model that puts consumers first. Where the car need to be insured not the person. Once you insured your car as long as you have valid driving licence anybody can drive that car.
Join me in calling for this much-needed reform within the UK insurance sector - sign this petition today!
