Intern doctors within the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) are currently receiving a significantly lower stipend than their counterparts in Maharashtra state government hospitals. This raises concerns of inequality and financial stress among these dedicated professionals. Our request is urgent. Despite a Government Resolution passed on February 27, 2024, which prescribed an increase to the stipend, the resolution has yet to be executed. Documentation necessary for the implementation of this increase was submitted on May 14, 2024, to the BMC. However, weeks have since passed without any solid action or response. We seek the immediate implementation of this resolution and the disbursement of 5-6 months of arrears, to resolve this considerable discrepancy between different sectors of our healthcare system.
