As students of Edgewood Junior High School, we, Corbin, Nathan, and Ava have found ourselves in an uncomfortable situation. We frequently encounter classmates dressed in furry suits during school hours. This not only disturbs us but also distracts us from our learning process. It is important to maintain a conducive environment for education and these costumes can be disruptive.

Furthermore, we have noticed that transgender students are using bathrooms that do not align with their biological sex. We recently encountered a situation where a female student used the boys' bathroom. This has caused discomfort among many of us.

As per the National Education Association's guidelines on dress codes (2018), schools should adopt policies that ensure minimal disruption to the educational process while respecting individuality.

We urge the Edgewood Junior High School administration to implement stricter dress code policies banning distracting outfits like furry suits/ears/tails during school hours and enforce gender-specific bathroom usage based on biological sex for all students' comfort and safety.
