As someone who believes deeply in the transformative power of sports, I understand how crucial it is to provide opportunities for all children, regardless of their socioeconomic status. Sports like soccer and track and field can be instrumental in shaping a child's future, teaching them valuable life skills such as teamwork, perseverance, discipline, and goal-setting.

Unfortunately, many underserved youth are denied these opportunities due to lack of access or resources. It is estimated that by age 13, 70% of kids drop out of youth sports because of financial constraints (source: The Aspen Institute). This is not just an issue about sports; it's an issue about equity.

Our county has the power to change this by implementing programs that offer soccer and track & field activities to underserved youth. By doing so we would not only be promoting physical health but also contributing positively towards their personal development.
