The Issue

The Aesthetics industry is a fast growing sector, yet it lacks the rigorous regulations needed to ensure client safety and professionalism. It has been for far too long a lawless playground for many “practitioners” to prey on our societies most vulnerable people to make fast money regardless of risks posed and threat to human life.

This is about changing that. We are calling for the creation of laws that require all Aesthetics Industry Practitioners to be qualified to Level 7, be a registered medical practitioner and endorsed by a credible Governing Body. The unregulated nature of this sector currently poses a significant risk to consumers and our constituents.

Furthermore, we insist that no Practitioner should be authorised to call their establishment an "Academy" without being assessed, approved, and registered by a Governing Body, and possessing a Governing Body and/or Level 3 - 5 Education and Teaching qualification.

According to Health Education England, as most aesthetic non-surgical procedures are unregulated, they are often performed by practitioners with no medical training (HEE, 2015).

This can lead to dangerous outcomes for clients. We need appropriate regulations in place to protect both practitioners and the public. Please sign this petition today to help make this industry safer and more professional.

In the past 72 hours our country has seen citizen hospitalised and one sadly lose their life because of the incompetent, barbaric treatment they had received at the hands of these self proclaimed “practitioners.”

We cannot deny any further that these incidences could have been prevented had there been laws and regulations in place.

I, myself along with thousands of citizens have been victims of this modern day butchery taking place with many like myself have left deformed and lives changed forever.

We must act now.
