Implement Chemical Castration or Capital Punishment for Rapists

The Issue

The lives of many innocent women are irrevocably tarnished by the actions of the inhumane individuals who commit the heinous crime of rape and molestation. I write this petition for equality.

An innocent woman who was violated and impregnated, now has to endure agonizing pain and mental anguish. She is then sentenced to a lifetime of suffering and unwilling compromise, often these women are unable to access proper medical care or social services, unable to seek help for proper justice, unable to support a soon-to-be born infant whom she’ll likely lack a connection with. In a fair world, this shouldn't be.. it wouldn’t be.
Besides enduring the traumatic experience itself, victims have to deal with potentially life-threatening and life-long consequences, while the perpetrators can "walk free" and continue to reoffend if a punitive law does not exist.

Rape is not only a violent crime, but it is also a violation of human rights.
According to the World Health Organization, approximately 35% of women worldwide have experienced sexual violence in their lifetime. The true number is likely much higher as rape is one of the least reported crimes due to fear, stigma, and the low conviction rates that embolden rapists (World Health Organization, 2021).

The facts are heartbreaking.

  • 1 in 9 girls and 1 in 20 boys under the age of 18 experience sexual abuse or assault.
  •  82% of all victims under 18 are female.
  • Females ages 16-19 are 4 times more likely than the general population to be victims of rape, attempted rape, or sexual assault.
  • Every 68 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted. Every 9 minutes, that victim is a child.
  • only 25 out of every 1,000 perpetrators will end up in prison, where they are NOT rehabilitated and released to reoffend.

Restricted abortion  access is becoming more of a concern by the day. Abortion restrictions effects many people, even those who are not sexually active, because rape still happens and women are still forcibly impregnated by perpetrators, and that wasn’t a choice… If abortion is illegal then it is only logical that chemical castration and the death penalty become standard punishment for rape offenders.  This type of punishment can help detour criminals, and also doubles as a way to protect victims and children while serving justice to all. Sexual criminals cannot be rehabilitated and almost always re-offend.

Therefore, we propose that our legislatures take the necessary steps to pass laws implementing chemical castration, or even capital punishment, for rapists. This will serve as a deterrent to potential rapists and ensure victims get justice. The law should provide victims solace, not a reason to fear. Let's put an end to the era where men with venomous intents escape scot-free while women suffer a lifetime.
