Implement Anti-Bullying Protections for Union-RXI Students

The Issue

Kailee Palmer, Allie Dunn, and myself have been enduring relentless bullying from Keira McMillon and her clique. This harmful treatment is being ignored, and the preceding individuals get away unpunished. Each day, we live in a threatening environment that is detrimental to our mental health and overall well-being. We request your help to stop the bullying we are facing.

Bullying is not an isolated or trivial event. According to a study presented by the National Bullying Prevention Center, nearly one in five students in the U.S. experiences bullying. These incidents have profound and lasting implications on the mental health of the victims, increasing their risk of depression, anxiety, and self-harming behavior (National Bullying Prevention Center, 2019).

Furthermore, such harassment not only affects the bullied but also the bully and the bystanders. Bullies are more likely to engage in antisocial behavior later in life, and bystanders often feel powerless and guilty if they do nothing to stop the bullying (National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, 2020).

The situation we find ourselves in is not unique, and neither is our call for change. Authorities need to recognize bullying not only as a breach of school rules but as a severe threat that can affect mental health and the overall academic environment.

We request an official investigation into Keira McMillon's conduct, her friends, and the treatment of Kailee Palmer, Allie Dunn, and myself. We ask for the implementation of a comprehensive anti-bullying policy and strict punishment for those responsible. Additionally, there is a need for ongoing training for teachers, staff, and students to create a safe, inclusive, and healthy environment for everyone.

Please stand with us. Sign this petition for a safer tomorrow.
