It is undoubtedly true that privately owned land is a symbol of independence and security. However, under our current laws, all land is considered ‘Crown Land’ and technically owned by the Monarchy. This means that, theoretically, the government has the power to seize privately owned land. To ensure the rights and safety of Canadians, this petition seeks to advocate for granting Allodial Titles to Canadians, which would grant absolute ownership of land, preventing the government from unjustly taking the land away. In the United States, some regions like Nevada and Arizona already provide Allodial Titles (source: US Legislation and land use policy).
