As a devoted fan of Widespread Panic, I find myself increasingly frustrated by my inability to secure concert tickets without being subjected to prohibitive pricing from tickets resold by bots and scalpers. This issue extends well beyond my personal situation - it's an unfair practice suffocating the heart of live entertainment for fans everywhere. Bots purchasing tickets in bulk only to resell them at inflated prices, eliminates the opportunity for real fans to attend concerts at an accessible cost.

We urgently require online ticket sales outlets to implement additional safety features to prohibit bots from purchasing and reselling tickets at increased prices, and to develop a more equitable, fan-friendly format to guard against fraud and scalping.

Artists, too, can take a stand. We're calling on bands, beginning with Widespread Panic, to support their fan base by advocating against these practices. A study from New York’s attorney general reported that on average, only 46% of tickets for the most popular concerts are reserved for the general public. This is not fan-friendly. It's not fair.
