Implement a zero tolerance anti-bullying policy

Implement a zero tolerance anti-bullying policy
The Issue
Our family is heartbroken, and our tragedy echoes the cries of countless families across America. In 2022, we lost our beloved 15-year-old daughter Ki’Trina, a vibrant soul with a promising future ahead. Her life was cut short because she felt there was no escape from the torment of bullying within her school.
Ki’Trina's story is not unique. Schools across the nation preach anti-bullying but fail to enforce stringent policies to protect vulnerable students. Statistics reveal a stark reality: more than one in five students report being bullied at school, as per the National Center for Educational Statistics. Tragically, bullying has been identified as a significant contributing factor in many youth suicides. Could we endure another life lost, another family broken, when action can and should be taken?
The current anti-bullying measures are often vague and insufficiently implemented, lacking the necessary authority to act decisively against bullying. Schools must adopt a strictly enforced zero tolerance policy against bullying to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all students. These policies should include clear definitions of bullying, procedures for reporting incidents, and strong consequences for perpetrators.
Educators and administrators need comprehensive training to identify bullying behaviors early and act effectively. Schools should also invest in counseling and support programs for those affected, whether they are victims, perpetrators, or bystanders. Furthermore, engaging parents and the broader community in ongoing education about bullying and its impacts can build a united front against this pervasive issue. As well as holding the parent/guardian of offenders of bullying accountable with fines up to legal action. This is a very serious matter our future is literally at risk from lack of heart and compassion for our fellow human beings.
By signing this petition, you pledge to support the implementation of rigorous and transparent anti-bullying policies that ensure accountability and protection for every student. Together, let's call for actionable change to honor the memory of Ki’Trina and every child who felt silenced. Please sign and share this petition to demand reform and safeguard our youth from the invisible chains of bullying.
