My daughter has been the victim of relentless bullying by the same group of children for two consecutive school years. Despite our pleas, there has been no accountability, consequence, or discipline for those students whom are doing the bullying as well as no other means of corrective measures being taken to ensure my daughter’s physical and mental well being and safety. This is a heartbreaking reality that many families in Bay City and the surrounding areas face daily. 

Bullying is not just an issue affecting my family; it's a widespread problem that needs immediate attention. According to the National Center for Education Statistics and Bureau of Justice Statistics, approximately 20% of students reported bullying nationwide during the 2019 school year, with 14% reporting suicidal ideations and tendancies, and 7% having attempted suicide.

We demand that our schools enforce a more strict zero tolerance policy against all forms of bullying, harassment, and discrimination. It's time we hold violators accountable with fair and adequate consequences or discipline.

Our children should feel safe and protected when they go to school each day - not fearful or anxious because they're being bullied. We need to ensure this by making our schools safer places where every child can learn without fear.
