As a resident living in close proximity to the intersection of Route One and Truslow Road, I am deeply concerned about the safety of my family, neighbors, and all who pass through this dangerous crossroad. Our neighborhood is constantly plagued by accidents - due to poor visibility - when making left turns onto the main road. The blind spots are numerous, making it extremely difficult for drivers to navigate safely.

The situation becomes even more alarming during school hours when buses filled with children commute through this hazardous intersection. Every day brings a new wave of fear, as we worry about their safety. 

According to data from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), intersections are responsible for over 50% of combined urban and rural crashes. This statistic highlights how crucial it is that proper traffic control measures are put in place at these locations.

Therefore, we urge our local government in Fredericksburg, VA to take immediate action by installing a traffic stoplight at this intersection. This step will not only reduce accidents, but also provide peace of mind for residents like myself who live in constant fear.
