Petition for Mandatory Duty of Care

Today, I was informed that another high‑risk patient passed away—on the very day they had a doctor’s appointment scheduled.

No call was made to the husband. No call was made to the children.

How many more patients must die before a mandatory duty of care is enforced?
How many more families must come home to find their loved ones passed away alone—or suffer the agony of discovering them days or even weeks later?

Once again, a patient who trusted their doctor was let down. Once again, a family was left without support. Could this patient have been saved if someone had simply picked up the phone? We may never know. But what we do know is this: it cannot continue.

Families rely on doctors and healthcare professionals to do everything possible to protect patients and to communicate with those who love them. A simple call could mean the difference between life and death, or at the very least, between dignity and despair.

We are asking for your support. Please sign and share this petition to demand change. Together, let’s show the world that every person deserves to die with dignity, and every family deserves to know that their loved one was cared for—not treated as just another number or file.
