Like so many others, I, too, cherish our phone time. In a world where we are more connected than ever through technology, our smartphones are more than just devices - they are our connection to the world. However, as students, it’s not always allowed to have this connection within our reach during school hours. Yet, we all understand the importance of responsible use of these devices and agree to put them away before entering the school facility.

Various studies have shown that the use of smartphones can potentially enhance student learning under the right circumstances. According to a survey by Learning House, over 85% of students use their phones to complete at least some homework or school-related tasks. This shows that our devices are integral parts of our learning experience.

I propose a sensible policy where we have our phones on the track for recreational use but agree to put them in metal pouches, which are checked by teachers, before we walk inside the building. This approach lets us use our devices responsibly without causing disruption inside the school.
