Impeach Trump: Invoke the Constitution's 25th and 14th Amendments Against President Trump
The Issue
I am writing this petition out of personal experience and the effects that President Trump's actions have had on my life and countless others. His consistent behavior, the insurrection at Capitol Hill, and his choice to surround himself with advisors embracing hateful rhetoric embody not only the characteristics of a national security threat but an international one considering the position of the United States as a global hegemon.
We have a duty to uphold the constitution before our rights and laws of the land are taken from us.
Trump violated Amendment 14 section 3 of the constitution by instigating an insurrection. He cannot hold office legally.
Trump's terms in office have been marked by instability and controversy. On January 6, 2021, a direct outcome of Trump's inflammatory speeches that challenged our democracy's core (source: New York Times). Additionally, he has consistently staffed his administration with individuals noted for dealing in bigotry and division such as advisor Stephen Miller who has prominently spouted Neo-Nazi talking points (source: Southern Poverty Law Center).
This sign represents a dire need for the implementation of the 25th Amendment's Section 4, which can declare a President unfit for duty, and the 14th Amendment that can disqualify him from office if found guilty of insurrection by the Supreme Court. State Courts have already ruled Trump an insurrectionist. We need to force the Supreme Court to address this immediately. There is no debating: Trump is an insurrectionist and unstable.
It's time for us to stand up for our integrity. It's time for us to secure our national and international stability. Please, sign the petition and demand the invocation of the 25th and 14th Amendments against President Trump.
