The Issue

I am an Athabascan Indian from the Holy Cross Tribe in Alaska, and I am both proud of my heritage and my American citizenship. My ancestors thrived here long before the concept of the United States was even born. Today, I stand in deep concern not only for myself and my family but for American citizens across the nation who face violations of their constitutional rights—the very rights that should be safeguarded above all by the highest office in our land.

President Trump has systematically abused his presidential powers, invoking control over federal agencies that are responsible for actions against American citizens and legal immigrants. The actions taken under his leadership include illegally detaining individuals in detention centers, violating the rights of both children and adults, including American citizens and legal immigrants.

The most shocking is the detainment and labeling of Native Americans and Alaskan Natives as illegal immigrants. It undermines the foundation of democracy, a principle deeply embedded in the rights enshrined in our Constitution. This threat to our liberties infringes on the oath the President took to uphold these very principles.

The role of the President is to unify, to protect, and to uplift all Americans, regardless of their background or political affiliations. Yet under President Trump, the office has been a source of division, of fear, and of harm.

The evidence is overwhelming: from reports of neglectful actions in detention centers to documented violations of the democratic process itself, the facts are undeniable. As citizens, as people whose rights are innate and sovereign, we must call upon Congress to act decisively.

I urge Congress to impeach President Trump for these abuses of power. It is not just about one man but about preserving the very essence of what it means to be American, to ensure that no citizen ever has to live in fear of their government infringing upon their freedoms.

Stand with me, stand for our rights, and for the preservation of democracy. Let your voice be heard. Sign this petition to demand Congressional action now.
