The executive branch does not have the power to unilaterally withhold or allocate federal funds without congressional approval. Article I, Section 9, Clause 7 of the U.S. Constitution explicitly states that “No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law. Impeachment exists precisely for situations like this. The impeachment power was designed to remove a president who abuses power, breaks laws, or threatens the republic. The charges here of admitted election tampering, unconstitutional withholding of funds, unlawful attempts to strip citizenship, and the dismantling of the federal workforce amounts to an orchestrated attempt to subvert democracy. If Congress does not act, it will be complicit in the destruction of the rule of law.
