Impeach Ricardo Lara California Insurance Commissioner

Impeach Ricardo Lara California Insurance Commissioner
The Issue
I am an Insurance Broker in California navigating these high tide waters. I have been in business for 23 years, in the insurance industry for a total of 28 years. I have never experienced a market so unstable and uncertain. Our insurance industry is at a standstill. We need to take control of our industry and not let 3rd parties dictate the future, and our present. California insurance market is suffering customers can't get insurance on the spot anymore. We have been suffering losses as business owners. Underwriting holds are being placed on policies and that is not fair to the consumers. Brokers are suffering and we can not and will not allow our livelihood to get dispersed as garbage. We will proclaim that we want action implemented immediately. We must not allow the law to contradict itself upholding every citizen to carry insurance yet some are being rejected and having to wait for the insurance companies to make the decision if that's an acceptable risk. The Law is not being upheld it's being manipulated by the one's in charge. How do you explain to desperate consumers that the insurance industry is coming to a halt? Is this our new norm? We live in a society where even the Insurance Commissioner has biten the hand that has fed him. Yes you heard that right he accepted donations from insurance companies. Soon after being elected he organized a reelection committee and started accepting donations from the insurance companies. Since it was brought to his attention he returned some of the donations. Unlike previous insurance commissioners they have declined to accept political donations from interested parties. It was easy to be politically incorrect since he regulates the $310 billion dollar insurance policies. California is the largest insurance market in the United States and the fourth largest insurance market in the world. What does that make the Insurance Commissioner? It makes him a very powerful individual with full authority to shut this industry down. I will be vocal that we will not stand to lose our brokerages, we will not let go of our hard earned money, we will not stand with Ricardo, we will not allow this powerful individual to let this ship sink. We are the Captains of our future and we are appealing for a stabilized market, and to allow consumers to be able to purchase insurance when they need it. Brokers are going out of business, franchisees losing their insurance franchises, and business owners are losing control of operational and business aspects of their businesses. Ricardo Lara is not for the people he is in this position to take taxpayers for a ride. Simply putting it he rented a second residence in Sacramento sticking taxpayers with the bill. As a public servant that vowed not to accept insurance money during his campaign did the opposite. Ricardo is in it for himself, his greed, and his financial gain. He has left the insurance industry at a standstill this needs to change immediately. We are rejecting consumers insurance, and not taking into consideration the liability exposure. Now we have uninsured drivers risking getting into accidents, getting a ticket for driving without insurance and even facing their vehicles getting impounded. This will cost consumers in the thousands. Ricardo Lara is a sellout and whatever is transpiring in the insurance industry is related to him. He has demonstrated to be unethical and corrupt. A system becomes corrupt when it is profit driven, not driven to serve the best interest of it's people. I demand answers, I demand normalcy in the insurance industry, I demand to be able to sell an insurance policy without prejudice or delay, I demand my business to remain open, I demand answers, I demand justice for consumers. I will be the voice of brokers, insurance agents, underwriters, and consumers. It is your duty Mr. Lara to look out for the consumer's best interest I can say that you are failing. I have began this petition to impeach you and avoid your reelection. Fix what's broken and gives us normalcy. Alexander Hamilton once said "Give all the power to the many, they will oppress the few. Give all the power to the few, they will oppress the many.” You are oppressing the insurance industry. Thy shall no more.
