President Donald J. Trump's plans to both displace Palestinians and forcibly occupy the territory, so reshaping it according to his design, harkens back to a troubling part of our American history when our forefathers destructively removed Native Americans from their ancestral lands. Such violent actions resulted in a profound damage to Native American communities, the effects of which are still visible: with 33% of people with indigenous ancestry living in poverty, the highest rate of any racial group in the U.S. according to the Census Bureau.

President Trump has publicly declared plans to emulate these past injustices by forcibly removing Palestinians from their homeland, reshaping the land as he sees fit, and offering no recourse to those displaced.
