COMMUNITY SUPPORT FOR MUNAWWAR SULTANA – HUMANITARIAN AND COMPASSIONATE CONSIDERATIONS

This letter is to show the community support for Munawwar Sultana. We have been informed that there is a possibility of Ms. Sultana not being allowed to live permanently in Canada. We want to show IRCC that not allowing her to remain in Canada on a permanent basis would mean separating her from her only family left and sending her back to a country where she has no connections left. This, we plead, would be very difficult for her and her family in Canada.

We request Immigration Canada to not put the family in a distressing situation and we, further, want to persuade IRCC to consider granting Ms. Sultana permanent residence on the basis of humanitarian and compassionate grounds.

Ms. Sultana is a family-driven individual who cares deeply and loves her son and his family unconditionally. The plea for their humanitarian and compassionate grounds application rests for allowance to be close to her family. Without a shred of doubt, we find Ms. Sultana to be honest and a respectful individual and know that she already treats Canada as her home. It would be immensely hard for her to be forced to stay apart from her son and his family. We know that Muhammad Ali Butt would be utterly disturbed and immensely remorseful if he is not allowed to live beside his mother and take care of her in her elderly years. Muhammad Ali's children are also loving Ms. Sultana’s company and do not want to be separated. In Pakistan, Ms. Sultana does not have a job and fears for her safety. There she is alone and has no one to support her or look after her. She does not feel safe in Pakistan living by herself. In Canada, Ms. Sultana feels comforted being surrounded by her family. She wants nothing more than to spend her days with her grandchildren and helping them grow in every way she can. Muhammad Ali's and his wife also need Ms. Sultana to stay and help them raise their new family. Please allow Ms. Sultana to continue having the experience of living as a family unit here in Canada with Muhammad Ali and his family.

Ever since her arrival, Ms. Sultana has been a model resident. In her time here, she has been actively involved in the community. She attends daily prayer and has made many friends with her son’s neighbors and co-workers. She has developed strong relationships with members of the community which we value dearly. Ms. Sultana brings positive vibes along with her wherever she goes and knows the importance of familial bonds. She has also become an important member of her community in her time here, making friends wherever she goes. She is actively on the lookout to contribute more time towards community development. Muhammad Ali, his wife and we, as a community request permanent residency for Ms. Sultana.

In her time here, Ms. Sultana has fallen in love with our country and every passing day grows more accustomed to our way of life here. For her, ever since she came to Canada, she has treated Canada as her true home. It would be a great hardship for her, Muhammad Ali and his family, if she cannot remain with them. There is nothing left for her in Pakistan. There she is alone and afraid every day. All of her sons are in the UK and Canada, her sons in UK cannot sponsor her and her daughter moved to another part of the country to stay with her own family. Muhammad Ali needs his mother by his side to help with his growing family. Him and his wife work hard every day to provide for their family, and they are struggling to find a balance in raising their children and making sure they can financially support them. Given the tender age of his children, and their emotional and financial dependence on their parents and Ms. Sultana in Canada, it is exceptionally hard for them to be separated from Ms. Sultana. She spends everyday with the children, making sure they are well cared for and live healthy and happy lives. We request that Ms. Sultana be allowed to stay with Muhammad Ali and his family in the place which they love and respect as home.

Ms. Sultana is a loving mother/grandmother and a respected individual who is invested in helping build a future for her family. All of the family members are now staying under one roof and we request that Immigration Canada permit them to continue doing so on a permanent basis. The family forms and represents a close-knit family unit who are very close and depend on one another for support. We cannot even imagine how difficult it would be if this family was separated from one another. Her grandchildren in particular would have a very hard time if Ms. Sultana was forced to return to Pakistan. We also submit that given her age, the back and forth travel is neither financially feasible nor convenient. Please do not let her family unit be scattered and separated from one another. We request you to allow Ms. Sultana to continue being here with her family, in a community she feels safe and happy.

As a community we support Ms. Sultana’s application for permanent residency on the basis of humanitarian and compassionate grounds. Please allow her to stay in Canada on a permanent basis. Every person undersigned here joins in this request.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
