After the reprehensible colonial statement made by Selina Robinson, Minister of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills, on calling Palestine 'a crappy piece of land with nothing on it' during an online panel with other Jewish politicians held on Jan. 30.

We insist on her prompt resignation from not only the government but also the NDP party. Her remarks revealed a superficial understanding and profound ignorance regarding the history of Palestine, its people, and its land. This dehumanizing comment occurred amidst a genocide recently investigated by the International Court of Justice and extensively documented by global media, aspects she chose to disregard, showing a lack of consideration for Canada's stance on truth and reconciliation.

Selina's remakes neither align with Canadian values nor universal human rights principles. The evidence suggests that Selina Robinson is ill-suited to guide Canada in the realms of education and empowerment for our future generations.

We, Canadians, demand her immediate resignation from all public and governmental positions.
