Huge thanks to Heather Williams, and Sarah Macrae for not giving up and even putting themselves in the spotlight (it's not an easy thing to do when it comes to mental illness).
The result - two stories in the New Zealand press today:
Stuff: https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/health/101628317/antidepressant-swap-sufferers-claim-generic-drug-is-harming-their-condition
NZ Herald: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12002918
The press articles have certainly raised awareness - one of our main goals - and has even enabled people who have been suffering with decreased mental wellness make a possible connection between this and the swap to generic.
To read comments such as "I had an OMG moment when I read the article" and learn that others are now not feeling so alone in their frustration, makes it all worthwhile.
The next stage is to see whether any of those in authority over our healthcare and medication take into consideration the concerns (medical and financial) of many.
Again, your support is, and continues to be, invaluable.
Thank you
Helen Leggatt & Heather Williams
