Dear supporters,
I wanted to provide you with an update regarding the petition you signed regarding the "liveliness" requirement for KYC at ICICI. I am pleased to inform you that ICICI has been actively working on finding multiple alternatives other than the eye blink method.
Over the past month, ICICI has conducted three meetings solely focused on this matter. They are dedicated to addressing the concerns raised by my petition and are working rigorously to come up with an appropriate solution. Their aim is to find an alternative method that ensures accuracy and security while minimizing any inconvenience caused to customers during the KYC process.
I remain optimistic that ICICI will successfully identify a suitable solution so that no one will have to face this problem in the future. Your support and participation in the petition have been instrumental in raising awareness and pushing for positive change. Together, we have made an impact, and I am grateful for your unwavering support.
I will keep a close eye on the developments and update you as soon as I have more information. Let us remain hopeful and trust that ICICI's efforts will lead to a more seamless and user-friendly KYC process.
(Meanwhile, last month I encountered a similar issue with Airtel when my SIM suddenly lost signal. Despite the fact that my SIM card had been in use for over 10 years, the customer care representatives requested KYC documents, which I promptly provided. However, they also insisted on capturing a live photo of me blinking my eye. Unfortunately, my application was denied due to my inability to blink one eye.
The customer care team told me that in this case, I needed to submit a written application, which would take 3-4 working days to process. Unfortunately, this incident occurred on a Friday, so I had to wait until the following Wednesday for my SIM card to finally be activated. Consequently, I was left without a phone number for more than four days, which was undoubtedly inconvenient.)
