Publisher Beamdog has released wonderful Steam reprints of classic RPGs on the Infinity Engine: Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate II, Planescape: Torment, and Icewind Dale. However, as far as we know, Beamdog refused to republish the latest release on the Infinity Engine — Icewind Dale II — due to the fact that the source code of the original edition was not preserved.

Fortunately, there is a publisher of retro games on Steam for which the absence of source code is also not a problem — SNEG. In addition, this publisher actively works with releases from the fan community. For example, not so long ago they released The Temple of Elemental Evil, in which they openly referred to the developments of the Circle of Eight and Temple+ modder communities. While working on the reissue of The Temple of Elemental Evil, the publisher also added many corrections on its own, and as a result, a wonderful release was produced that works stably on modern PCs.

Given the area of interest and working methods of SNEG, they seem to be the most suitable candidate for today's re-release of the last missing Infinity Engine game on Steam — Icewind Dale II.
