Justice for Tysheem Crocker

The Issue

The wrongfully convicted are only as good as their legal team and support system. We can learn the law, all the appellate procedures, statutes and crimes codes, but still be at an incredible disadvantage when it comes to gathering information. "Excellent investigation" is necessary to have a wrongful conviction overturned. Publicity is necessary as well. Both are nearly impossible from behind bars…

If you follow me on social media, or you signed my previous Change.org petitions, you already know — in January of 1999, I was wrongfully convicted of conspiracy to commit homicide. (You also know, it was my Change.org petitions that got the attention of the Innocence Project.)

January 2013, the star witness (my best friend) revealed that he'd been pressured into giving false information in my case. However, in open court, I was denied a new trial as the trial court opined, "He's safe from prosecutors, but not from his old friends." His recantation was found to be untrustworthy.

Today we know without a shadow of a doubt, the testimony he provided against me in 1999 was in fact false, and his 2013 recantation was indeed credible, because we have been blessed to have an "Excellent investigation", courtesy of one of the best Investigators in this nation. I was wrongfully convicted, for 24 years (my entire adult life) I've maintained my innocence, and in 2022 the truth is about to be revealed. We need publicity as we prepare for trial court. Where the evidence will speak for itself and set the record straight.
