Sullivan, MO- MMA Fighter Garrett “G-Money” Holeve defeated David “Cerebral Assassin” Steffan by submission in the second round of their bout at Cage Championships 50 in Sullivan, Missouri on November 8th. It was the first career win for Holeve, who has had an incredible journey to make it into the ring. The fight marked the first time in MMA history that two adaptive athletes competed against one another. “I have proven that I am a MMA fighter and my hard work paid off in the cage,” said Holeve. ”I feel like the lightweight champ! I want to fight in Florida even more than ever and I want the people who have discriminated against me to stop it and let me fight.” In a great show of sportsmanship following the fight, the two fighters embraced and shared in the glory of being able to compete. Stefffan took the microphone from the ring announcer and said, “All we wanted to do was fight and we proved to you tonight that we can.” Here is the YouTube link to the fight: http://youtu.be/oTZasYbazMM?list=UUsGIDRojzPke6g3D9KQmrYA Garrett's legal battle continues in Florida with hopes of some day cometing in his home state!
