Hyundai/Kia White paint Deterioration, Hyundai shall provide solution at no cost

The Issue

I recently purchased a white 2017 Hyundai Sonata with roughly 100,000 miles. The entire front of the roofs paint had chipped off and seemed to continue falling off each time I drove. I paid $300 to have the roof vinyl wrapped because Hyundai refused to resolve the issue caused by their faulty paint. In the process, the side above the windows started chipping off right away and continue to grow bigger.

After researching, I've come to discover that there are many people around the country with my same issue, being refused full coverage on a paint job when it's the manufactures at fault.

There is more purpose to painting a vehicle then just looks, the entire purpose is to keep the metal/material under the paint from rusting and corroding. The paint is what keeps us and our cars safe.

My goal is for this petition to get recognized enough to help others along with myself get justice and coverage on their new cars paint, and keeping people safe on the road rather than gaining financial hardship and permanent damage to our vehicles.

Update: 9/16/23 - It’s has gotten to the point of needing to trade in the Hyundai. It was too unreliable and Hyundai continued to refuse any sort of assistance. I took a loss on a couple thousand dollars and now have my first lease on a vehicle, sadly. I highly advise you be extra cautious when purchasing a Hyundai/Kia/Korean made vehicles. They will not hold themselves accountable for their wrong doings.
