We, residents of Hume City Council, demand Council represented by mayor Naim Kurt and fellow councillors to immediately close the HTA weapons manufacturing facility in Lara Way , Campbellfield . 

Despite the Australian government's secrecy around the provision of weapons to Israel, in publicly available data, it is clear that the HTA facility is producing crucial heat treatment for components of the F35Joint Strike Fighters used by Israel  utilised in the current Gaza aggression thus  assisting in the murder of innocent civilians. 

Families, mothers, fathers, children and elderly do not feel safe and do not accept the existence of  such facilities around their homes.  

We live in a society that upholds life and where laws exist to preserve it. The existence of such facility is considered unethical and dangerous. 

On August 26th , 2019 Hume City Council passed a motion agreeing to endorse the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons ICAN as a city and implement the United Nations treaty to prohibit nuclear weapons . This was in the light of  honoring life preservation and its sanctity. We demand Council to have the same stand this time round too . This is no different. 

We demand the  immediate closure of the facility.
