As I gently and lovingly, kiss the head of my beautiful 12 year old daughter, as she sleeps peacefully in her bed, as a loving and protective parent, I know deep down, in my heart and soul, that she feels the warmth of my love, the safety of my security, and the  strength of my protection. As I begin to leave her room, I take one more intuitive glance at her, and I warmly witness the look of security, peace and serenity, on her carefree little face.  

And then I switch on the news…  thousands of little innocent grief stricken faces are looking back at me, etched with pain, suffering, fear, and pleading for humanity to see them… to hear them and to protect them from an environment of bloodshed, hunger, and loss, something no child in this world should ever have to witness. I shed tears for every innocent soul that has been maimed or killed… I shed tears for every innocent child who has witnessed the killing of their parents, siblings, family and friends… I shed tears for my daughter, who sleeps peacefully in her bed, oblivious to the heart wrenching, soul-crushing cries of her fellow human beings, innocent children across the world. Moreover, I shed tears for humanity’s inhumanity. 

As I attempt to compose myself, and try to find that tiny seed of hope, deep within me, I remember the sacrifices of my ancestors, who fought and died so bravely for this great country of ours, who so courageously laid down their lives, to protect us from racist, xenophobic forces, and led our country to victory. I remember how we have been a Safe Haven for refugees, for over 700 years, opening up our hearts and homes to those ravaged by war and all of its atrocities, and I remember why we are called ‘Great’ Britain! 

As I write this, I do so, safe in the knowledge, that my daughter is safely, tucked up in bed, and shall awake in the morning, to be greeted with love,warm, cuddles, security, and praise. With this in mind, I am calling upon every decent, moral human being, to sign this petition calling upon our government,to urgently develop a scheme for orphaned, Palestinian children, to be rehomed, here in the UK, as we have so lovingly done, so with our brothers and sisters in the Ukraine, whom we welcomed with opened arms. 

This is not about race or religion, or political affiliation. This is about HUMANITY! Will you stand up for humanity, and on the right side of Justice? Will you be a voice for the innocent and vulnerable? If so, please stand beside me, in unison, and sign this petition. Let us stand up collectively, let our voices be heard, and call for an IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE , and for ALL  international law to be adhered to at all times, in order to protect the innocent and vulnerable. Let us continue with the utmost pride, the values, morals, and principles of Great Britain, and of those who died to protect them. PLEASE STAND WITH ME!
