The so called 'Humane Slaughter Association' are still touting themselves as a charity and asking for donations under this misleading title.
The 'HSA', the 'ASA' and 'Charity Commission' still need pressure put on them to make change happen. Please continue to contact them here:

The HSA responded;
"If I understand you correctly, your rationale is that animals should not be killed by humans for food. This is an ethical position, but not all agree, and while animals continue to be used for food, (and the global population of farmed animals is vast - well over 20 billion) they will continue to be marketed transported and slaughtered. The Humane Slaughter Association has a very long history of improving the welfare of animals during marketing, transport and slaughter. I believe that the HSA's work to make these procedures more humane is important, should continue, and that the long established title reflects the HSA's objectives and helps the HSA reach its target audience"
Their response implies that it is merely an opinion of some that the use and killing of animals causes suffering. I want to state that it is not an opinion, it is a fact that the use and killing of animals does cause suffering no matter how it is done.
The UK government has publicly stated that animals are sentient beings, not merely commodities, and has confirmed its commitment to the highest possible standards of animal welfare.
It is ridiculous to state that the use and killing of an animal is for it's best welfare and is in line with a 'duty of care'.

The Charity Commission have said:
'It Is our policy to not provide updates on complaints, we will therefore only contact you again if we need further information from you'
They have still not been in contact since my last email.
