Celebrities Are Human Too.  
Stop online witch-hunts. Protect their dignity and privacy.

We express deep concern over the treatment of Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun, who has been targeted with baseless rumors, privacy invasions, public shaming, and the cancellation of commercial contracts without any verified facts.

If Kim Soo Hyun is indeed innocent, the reputational and emotional damage he has already endured is a violation of his human rights—for which no one is held accountable.

Even if he were found to have made a mistake, the ongoing flood of doxing, slander, and invasive content across media and social networks reflects the collapse of the “presumption of innocence.” This is modern-day trial by internet—and it must stop.

If this kind of treatment continues unchecked, anyone could be the next target.

False narratives are often dramatized and emotionally charged to the point where they manipulate public opinion and become widely believed.

This is a form of mass psychological control that results in public trials without evidence, defense, or justice. We must recognize this danger and take a stand—now.

We Demand:

• Stronger international principles to protect the human rights of celebrities and public figures

• Ethical standards to prevent premature punishment by media, advertisers, and social platforms

• Global efforts to counter expose-culture and online mob behavior

• Independent investigations and public statements from major human rights organizations

김수현 씨가 무고하다면, 이미 입은 명예 훼손과 심리적·경제적 피해는 명백한 인권 침해이며, 그 누구도 이에 대해 책임지지 않는 현실은 심각한 문제입니다.

설령 과오가 있었다 하더라도, 사실 확인 없이 폭로 콘텐츠, 악성 영상, SNS 비방이 난무하는 현상은 ‘무죄 추정 원칙’을 훼손하는 현대판 ‘온라인 인민재판’이라 할 수 있습니다.

이러한 상황이 계속된다면, 누구든지 다음 타겟이 될 수 있습니다.

허위 정보가 감정적이고 극적인 방식으로 포장되어 대중의 인식을 조작하고 진실처럼 받아들여지는 현상은, 대중 심리를 악용한 여론 재판이며 매우 위험한 사회적 흐름입니다.

지금 행동하지 않으면 더 많은 피해자가 나올 수 있습니다.

우리는 다음을 요구합니다:

• 유명인 및 공인의 인권 보호를 위한 국제 기준 강화

• 언론, 광고, SNS 기업의 과잉 제재를 막기 위한 윤리 기준 수립

• 폭로 문화와 온라인 마녀사냥에 대한 국제 윤리 기준 재정립

• 국내외 인권 단체들의 독립적 조사 및 성명 발표

この署名は、俳優キム・スヒョンさんに対する事実無根の中傷や憶測に端を発し、  
今後すべての芸能人・表現者が安全に活動できる社会の実現を目指すものです。

私たちは、韓国の俳優キム・スヒョンさんに対する、事実確認のない未成年交際の疑惑と、それに続く暴露、誹謗中傷、広告契約のキャンセル、そして社会的制裁が拡がっていった一連の事象に深い懸念を表明します。

もしキム・スヒョンさんが無実であった場合、「疑惑の時点」で著しく名誉を傷つけられ、経済的・社会的なダメージを受けたことに対して、誰も責任を取らない現状は極めて重大な人権問題です。

また、仮に何らかの過ちがあったとしても、それが明らかになる前から暴露系メディアやSNSでのプライバシーの侵害、ネット上での誹謗中傷が止まらない状況は、「推定無罪」の原則に反し、現代の“ネット私刑”として人権侵害そのものです。

もしこのような状況が許され続けるならば、次に同じようなターゲットにされるのは、誰でもおかしくありません。

事実とは異なる作り話が感情と繰り返しによってドラマチックに演出され、あたかも真実であるかのように民衆の認識を操作するマインドコントロールのような現象が、今まさに世界中で起きています。

証拠も反論の機会もないまま、“人民裁判”のような仕打ちが繰り返される社会は、私たち全員にとって危険な兆候です。

私たちは次のことを求めます：

• 有名人であっても基本的人権を守る国際的な原則の強化

• SNS・メディア・広告業界に対し、疑惑段階での過度な制裁を控える倫理基準の整備

• 暴露やネットリンチ文化に対する国際的な倫理・ガイドラインの再構築

• 上記の問題について、国際人権団体および韓国国内団体が調査・声明・提言を行うこと
