The University of Bristol needs to commit itself to a Zero Suicide Pledge, taking a visible stance to combat the Mental Health Crisis at the University.

There have been 13 suicides in the last 18 months in the University of Bristol alone, an outstandingly high figure which has put Bristol under the spotlight. A number of times, this could have been preventable by proactive support and better University policies in place to safeguard vulnerable students. We want a University where no one feels alone and unsupported, and a University that is openly committed to safeguarding its students. More must be done to save the lives of students, and assist them with their mental health needs. 

Support Our Services is calling on the University of Bristol and Vice-Chancellor Hugh Brady to commit itself to a Zero Suicide Pledge, as the first step to a policy to end the tragedy of student deaths.
