Six weeks after the Superintendent's letter HTHS Principal Giammarella finally sent an update.

The update said they had a meeting on August 13 to agree that the yearbook should be revised - something that the Superintendent already determined on July 22 - and now are going to edit the yearbook. Still no information about when the yearbook will be available or how it will be distributed. What is taking so long?

Judge for yourself - here is the Principal's letter:

Dear Parents/Guardians and Class of 2020:

We are so proud of our 2020 Senior class! You all have exhibited resilience with the many obstacles since the COVID-19 pandemic, yet you have the enormous ability to move forward with tremendous pride.

In response to recent concerns regarding our 2020 Senior yearbook, we have been proactively meeting with parents/guardians, students and staff to review and edit the students yearbook, to comply with the high standards we expect from our HCST staff and students.

August 13, 2020 we had a follow-up meeting with representatives from the 2020 student yearbook committee, to assure their hard work and creativity is not compromised. They offered many suggestions and agreed with the need for our revision.  We want to commend their innovation, originality and acknowledge their diligence and hard work.  After careful review of the various concerns within the yearbook, we are ready to begin the process of finalizing the edited version.

Next week, we will be meeting again to review the editing.  Once we finalize the finished product, we will be able to forward it to Jostens for reprint.

We appreciate your patience, understanding and suggestions.

Respectfully,

Joseph A. Giammarella, Ph.D.

Principal
